Joshua Jackson is a second-year central midfielder.

Josh shows excellent quality on his forward passes and his delivery from set plays is excellent. Josh is also a member of the player leadership group in which he plays a key part in ensuring that the players and his team mates maintain high standards of professionalism both on and off the pitch."

Joshua: "I have been at Southend for around a year now. Throughout my time at this club, I've learnt so much playing in different positions, in different formations and with different players, and it's all played a massive part in making me the player I am today. I'm looking forward to this season, having already had various opportunities with the first team prior I hope to continue to get those opportunities and show I'm ready to play at the highest level, and carry on improving as a player and a person. Also being part of the leadership group this year, it gives me an opportunity to lead the group of players and act in a professional way and show that I have valuable qualities that I can take into first team football."
