Joe Poxon is a first year, who can play in midfield or up front.

Danny Heath: “Joe has been at the club since he was an under-7 and we are all very happy that Joe has wanted to stay with the club. Joe is a positive, forward-thinking player that loves to attack to build, create and take goal scoring opportunities for the team. He shows very good dribbling skills and the ability to produce an end product. Joe demonstrates a strong but fair mentality with his tackling. Joe is an avid Southend United fan, supporting and watching the first team both home and away. That love and passion for the club inspires all staff and players and he always talks about what he has learnt from watching the first team play. Joe bleeds Blue.”

Joe Poxon: “Having been a player for the academy since I was six, I’m honoured to still be a part of the club I love and support. I aspire to remain a part of the club and one day play for the first team.”
