George Pulham is a third-year wing-back.

Danny Heath: "George is a fantastic character both on and off the pitch. He demonstrates a hard-working attitude and demonstrates excellent physical attributes with his speed to be able to get up and down the pitch. He has reached speeds of up to 35kmh of which is Premier League numbers. George demonstrates the ability to beat defenders in 1v1 attacking situations to then also produce an end product in the final third with shots and crosses to create and take goalscoring opportunities. Out of possession George recovers with speed and good tactical positioning to defend the back post really well. George is the vice captain for the Under 19’s team for this season and he is also a part of the player leadership group."

George Pulham: "My journey to Southend United's youth team has been unique, only getting into the team at the start of the 2023/24 pre-season through playing for the community team the year prior. Whilst being in the youth team I have really enjoyed the experience of being coached by Danny Heath and the rest of the team as they have developed me massively so far. Being part of Southend's youth team has also given me great opportunities like playing against Arsenal at their first-team training ground and gaining two first team appearances against Bishop's Stortford and Canvey Island. I'm looking forward to playing with the group of lads as we have a good connection and vibe around the training ground, and I believe we have a lot of potential to do well."
