Beau MacDonald is a first year who can play in midfield or attack. He made his first-team debut in October 2023 in an Emirates FA Cup tie against Yeovil Town, and went on to play in the league for the first time two weeks later.

Danny Heath: Beau has been at the club since he was an under-7 and we are all very happy that Beau has wanted to stay with the club. Beau is a positive, forward thinking player that loves to attack to build, create and take goal scoring opportunities for the team by showing a very good range of passing and also creative one-touch play in and around the opposition penalty area. Beau is a hard-working player when the team is out of possession and communicates with other players to organise them and also presses or marks/tracks opposition midfield players”.

Beau Macdonald: “I have been at Southend United since I was six years old. It’s been an incredible journey with many highs and a few lows. Some of my highlights include getting my scholarship and making my debut as a 15 year old in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup against MK Dons. I look forward to representing the club for many years to come. From a little boy watching the youth team play, to now be a part of it is a massive achievement and it has pushed me to aspire for bigger and better things.”
