Ollie Kensdale joined Southend United in January 2021 for an undisclosed fee from Concord Rangers.

The 21-year-old centre back became Head Coach Kevin Maher’s first permanent signing, joining from the National League South side, and made 15 league appearances in his first season at Roots Hall.

He went on to be one of our standout players in 2022/23, only missing one league game and impressing with his ball-playing ability. Kensdale scored his first Southend in the televised 2-2 draw with Notts County.

The defender progressed through Colchester United’s youth system, making his first-team debut in November 2018. He made six appearances in total for the U’s, also spending time out on loan at Maldon & Tiptree, Bath City and Braintree Town.
