Jack Wood signed for the Shrimpers from Kings Langley in January 2022.

He joined the seventh-tier side in 2019 at the age of 16, and signed for Southend on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Wood spent time on loan at National League South side Tonbridge Angels in 2022/23, netting eight goals.

His first Blues goals came in pre-season in July 2023 as he scored a hat-trick against Bishop’s Stortford.

Wood was able to get more first-team football in the 2023/24 season. He scored three National League goals, including a superb solo effort against Aldershot.
