On 19 January 2024, striker Danny Waldron signed for the Shrimpers on an 18-month deal.

Joining from Rushall Olympic, Waldron worked his way through the non-league pyramid, also playing for Leamington and Alvechurch.

He scored a brace against Cheltenham Town in Alvechurch’s remarkable run to the second round proper of the Emirates FA Cup in the 2022/23 season, in addition to 26 league goals across two seasons for the Church.
