Brooklyn Kabongolo signed for the club on non-contract terms at the end of September 2023.

The 20-year-old joined from Billericay Town. Kabongolo was previously in Ipswich Town’s academy, where he also spent time out on loan at Bury Town.

He scored his first Southend goal at Roots Hall against Bromley.
